Cincinnati State Technical and Community College is seeking a qualified Adjunct Professor to teach Political Science courses. As a member of our academic team, you will deliver high-quality instruction, maintain a positive learning environment, and contribute to the success of our students.
Job SummaryThis part-time Adjunct Professor position is available to teach Political Science courses on a semester-by-semester basis. We offer a competitive hourly rate of $660 per lecture hour for new adjuncts. If you are passionate about teaching and committed to student success, we encourage you to apply.
Responsibilities- Teaching and Instruction: Deliver learning-centered instruction, establish a conducive classroom environment, and effectively plan and prepare for classes.
- Course Materials and Preparation: Adequately prepare all course materials, lessons, and assessments, including grading and feedback.
- Student Support: Provide clear course expectations, evaluations, and timelines, as well as interesting and relevant assignments that demonstrate learning outcomes in real-life settings.
- Communication and Teamwork: Suitably challenge, engage, serve, and communicate with students to encourage participation and learning, while maintaining mutual value and respect.
- Record Keeping and Assessment: Maintain accurate records of student progress, complete grade books, and final grade sheets on a timely basis.
- Course and Program Outcomes: Ensure course and program learning outcomes are delivered as defined in the syllabus.
- Master's Degree: Required in the teaching subject area or a closely related field with 18 graduate credit hours in the subject area.
- Industry or Business Experience: At least 3 years' experience in the teaching subject area, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong ability to interact successfully with academic, business, and regulatory personnel.
- Technology and Innovation: Ability to build or enhance proficiency in the use of classroom technology, instructional support systems, and innovative programs.
- Previous Teaching Experience: Experience teaching in an academic environment, with a strong commitment to student success.
- Industry or Business Applied Experience: 5 years' experience in the teaching subject area, with experience working with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Online Teaching Experience: Experience teaching online courses, with a strong ability to adapt to new technologies and instructional methods.
