As a key member of our construction team, you will play a vital role in the development and maintenance of our facilities.

Additional Information:

Required Experience:


Experience in construction within healthcare or similar environments is preferred, with a focus on hands-on skills in general commercial construction framing and finishing.


Educational Background:
A High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory. A solid understanding of commercial construction practices is essential.

Skill Requirements:
This position demands a comprehensive knowledge of various tools and their operation for tasks including:
carpentry, metal work, ceiling installations, flooring, and the repair of doors and assorted hardware.

Physical Skills:
Requires significant hand-eye coordination and the ability to operate electronic and mechanical devices effectively.

Physical Demands:


Regular walking and climbing of stairs and ladders, occasional stooping, bending, and crawling while conducting repairs, along with steady muscular exertion requiring the ability to lift up to 100 lbs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Construct new walls using metal studs and gypsum board.
  • Float and finish gypsum board surfaces.
  • Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting.
  • Maintain an adequate supply of materials on the job site.
  • Install suspended ceiling tiles.
  • Lay vinyl floor tiles.
  • Construct and/or install millwork.
  • Possess general knowledge of plastic laminate work (patch repair or new).
  • Build, patch, repair, or replace various wooden items (furniture, cabinets, shelves, countertops, etc.).
  • Assist colleagues with maintenance or repair tasks as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the shop area and care for tools.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and practices.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary and directed.
  • Collaborate effectively with fellow employees.
  • Comply with North Oaks Medical Center's Compliance Programs and Federal and State Regulatory guidelines.
