Job Overview:

The Scheduler is entrusted with the daily management of coordinating the schedules of healthcare professionals and addressing patient requirements. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless organization of client appointments, maintaining accurate scheduling records, and facilitating effective communication regarding any scheduling modifications between administrative offices and field staff. The Scheduler operates under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Support.

Key Qualifications:
Exceptional communication abilities and proficiency in computer systems are essential. Previous experience in healthcare settings is advantageous. A willingness to acquire and implement new skills is necessary. Access to a reliable, insured vehicle and a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record is required.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Manage the scheduling of field staff, promptly addressing any scheduling conflicts with the Supervisor.
  • Utilize the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system efficiently to assign appropriately skilled personnel for each patient visit.
  • Engage with clients and staff to discuss scheduling requirements and general inquiries.
  • Maintain professional communication with clients and their families as necessary.
  • Document and report any changes in client status, service needs, or assigned personnel to the Director of Hospice and Palliative Care or supervising nurse, including any performance issues.
  • Exhibit strong organizational skills.
  • Use resources and supplies in a responsible and cost-effective manner.
  • Uphold confidentiality regarding all employee, client, and agency information.
  • Practice proper body mechanics and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Follow all safety policies, including the immediate reporting and removal of hazards.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and adherence to infection control standards.
  • Respond to management directives and follow instructions.
  • Collaborate effectively with other personnel within the organization.
  • Comply with the organization's Standards of Conduct.
  • Complete timesheets and other documentation in accordance with agency policies and relevant regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
