Job Summary:

As an Assistant Branch Manager at Restaurant Depot, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the Branch to deliver exceptional customer satisfaction and projected bottom line profit. You will manage personnel issues and supervision, maintain a positive company image, and provide courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures, including safety, personnel, security, pest control, and shrink control.

• Review financial and operational reports and take necessary actions based on report results.

• Direct subordinates to ensure timely and accurate management of all warehouse operations, including safety, sanitation, shelf labels, inventory, merchandising, receiving, stocking, stacking position, order pulling, shipping, and in-store customer service.

• Define the service standards and operational mission of the branch, communicate it to employees, and monitor activities to meet the goals of the branch.

• Maximize all sales opportunities by ensuring high levels of customer service while meeting budgetary guidelines.

• Manage selection, annual performance appraisals, and professional development of all management-level personnel.

• Directly supervise and manage department managers and coach them on employee relation issues, such as new hires, transfers, promotions, demotions, and disciplinary action, including termination.

• Maintain communication with Corporate Offices to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures as well as state and federal laws and regulations.

• Review inventory on a regular basis to ensure that the inventory is correct and the products are in-house.

• Complete and process necessary reports and paperwork accurately and timely.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree (preferred but not required)

• Minimum 4 years of management experience in food service or grocery distribution in a supermarket, club warehouse, big box, or mass merchandising environment.

• Background in P&L, inventory control, merchandising, hiring/training staff, front-end, merchandising, cash control, payroll, security/loss prevention mandatory.

• Strong leadership skills, capable of running a high-volume warehouse operation.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and people management/training skills and be extremely customer service-oriented.

• Commitment to company values and strong customer orientation.

Work Environment:

The work environment is moderate, with areas that are cold (freezer) and hot (damages area). The work is mostly performed standing/walking, and physical labor is infrequent but may be required to move merchandise or clean areas. Industrial vehicles (forklifts, Hilo) move material throughout the warehouse.
