We are seeking a highly skilled Multilingual Health Service Coordinator to join our team at Peoples Community Health Clinic. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing translation, interpretation, and case management services to non-English speaking patients.

Responsibilities

  • Scheduling Support: Assist with scheduling patient appointments, ensuring seamless communication between patients, providers, and clinic staff.
  • Translation Services: Provide accurate and timely translation services for all clinic processes, including medical records, treatment plans, and patient communications.
  • Interagency Collaboration: Facilitate effective inter-agency communication to promote coordinated care, supporting the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.
  • Patient Advocacy: Serve as an advocate for clients, ensuring their needs are met and their rights are respected.
  • Data Collection: Collect and analyze data necessary for evaluation and grant reports, contributing to the improvement of healthcare outcomes.
  • Refugee Support: Collaborate with nursing managers, providers, and assigned clinic nurses to coordinate the Adjustment of Status process (Green Card) for refugees, promoting successful integration into the community.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives, focusing on health disparities and clinical outcomes.
  • Competence Development: Maintain and enhance your own competence through ongoing education and training, ensuring expertise in medical terminology, Karenni language, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Safety and Security: Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to policies and procedures, protecting patient confidentiality, and maintaining secure access to Protected Health Information (PHI).

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Language Proficiency Testing or Interpreter Certification preferred.
  • Language Skills: Fluent in Karenni; ability to read, write, and converse in English with proficiency in medical terminology.
  • Cultural Competence: Ability to communicate effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds, demonstrating tact, courtesy, and cultural sensitivity.
