Position Overview

Mecklenburg Health and Rehabilitation is seeking a dedicated Healthcare Transportation Specialist to become an integral part of our compassionate team. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the health, safety, and overall well-being of our residents. The Healthcare Transportation Specialist is tasked with safely transporting residents to and from various appointments within the community using our designated vehicles.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong affinity for working with the elderly and disabled, demonstrating exceptional customer service skills and a positive attitude. Punctuality and professionalism are essential attributes for this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitates patient transport by assisting individuals in and out of vehicles, lifting them as necessary, and moving them to and from treatment areas using mobility aids.
  • Exhibits outstanding communication skills while interacting with external parties, ensuring a high level of customer service.
  • Provides comfort and reassurance to patients and their families by offering support and demonstrating cultural sensitivity.
  • Handles the transportation of medical equipment and supplies by collecting and delivering items to designated areas.
  • Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to established standards and legal regulations.
  • Enhances professional knowledge by engaging in continuous educational opportunities.
  • Contributes to the organization's reputation by taking initiative on new requests and seeking ways to add value to the role.
  • Ensures confidentiality and respect for sensitive patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Prioritizes the safety of residents during transportation.
  • Participates in initial and ongoing training to stay informed about current safety practices.
Qualifications:

Essential:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Successful completion of a drug screening and background check.
CNA certification is highly preferred. Experience in customer service, transportation, and healthcare is advantageous. On-site training will be provided regardless of prior experience.
Exceptional customer service skills are a must.
