Position Overview:

Each Redwood Neighborhood is supported by an Apartment Maintenance Technician, whose main duties include performing routine and general upkeep of the facilities, buildings, and equipment on-site, along with executing specific groundskeeping tasks. Daily activities involve using various power tools, completing unit turnovers, and troubleshooting appliances.

Customer service and effective communication with residents and team members are vital aspects of the Apartment Maintenance Technician role. This position requires acting as a Redwood ambassador, ensuring a positive experience for both employees and residents. Technicians will enter residents' homes to fulfill work orders and are expected to manage repairs and communications in a manner that fosters the best possible experience.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Perform maintenance and repairs on facilities, buildings, and grounds as assigned through work orders:

  • Efficiently prepare vacated apartment homes for re-leasing
  • Conduct minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and drywall tasks
  • Address minor plumbing system issues (clearing drains, toilet repairs, water heater maintenance)
  • Service kitchen appliances, washers, dryers, and garage issues as needed
  • Participate in emergency maintenance as part of an on-call schedule
  • Adhere to safety standards at all times
  • Manage snow removal tasks
  • Complete all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of general maintenance experience
  • Valid driver's license
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HVAC Certification
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Experience in apartment maintenance
  • Proficiency in using smartphones, tablets, and computers

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks that involve sitting, standing, bending, and walking

Compensation details: $23-$25 Hourly Wage
