Position Overview:
Every Redwood Neighborhood is supported by an Apartment Maintenance Technician whose key duties involve executing routine and general upkeep of the facilities, buildings, and equipment on the premises, alongside performing essential groundskeeping tasks. Daily activities include utilizing various power tools, completing unit turnovers, and troubleshooting appliances.
This role also emphasizes customer service and effective communication with both residents and team members. The Apartment Maintenance Technician is expected to embody the Redwood spirit and consistently deliver a positive experience for both employees and residents. Technicians will enter residents' homes to fulfill work orders and are expected to manage repairs and communications in a manner that fosters the best possible resident experience.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform maintenance and repairs on facilities, buildings, and grounds as assigned through work orders:
- Swiftly and professionally prepare vacated apartment homes for re-leasing
- Execute minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and drywall tasks
- Conduct minor plumbing repairs (clearing drains, addressing toilet issues, repairing/replacing water heaters)
- Service kitchen appliances, washers, dryers, and garage issues as needed
- Provide emergency maintenance as part of an on-call emergency schedule
- Adhere to safety standards at all times
- Manage snow removal tasks
- Complete all other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of general maintenance experience
- Valid driver's license
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
- HVAC Certification
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Experience in apartment maintenance
- Proficiency in operating smartphones, tablets, and computers
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and the capacity to sit, stand, bend, and walk
