Job Overview

Position Summary:

The role of a Service Technician encompasses the diagnosis, upkeep, and repair of customer vehicles. Candidates should possess an ASE certification along with strong communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preferred to hold Level 3 Certification in all FCA Stellantis Categories, including Diesel & Transmissions.
  • Ensures equipment availability by inspecting and testing vehicles, performing preventive maintenance tasks such as engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotations, and filter replacements.
  • Maintains the operational condition of vehicles by addressing operator complaints, conducting inspections, and repairing mechanical and electrical system failures.
  • Verifies vehicle serviceability through test drives and adjustments to controls and systems.
  • Adheres to state vehicle regulations by testing engine performance, safety, and emissions standards.
  • Keeps accurate vehicle records by documenting services and repairs performed.
  • Enhances job knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities and reviewing technical literature.
  • Achieves maintenance and organizational goals by completing related tasks as necessary.
  • Executes repairs as specified in the repair order efficiently and in line with dealership standards.
  • Conducts test drives and evaluates components and systems using diagnostic tools and specialized service equipment.
  • Diagnoses, maintains, and repairs automotive systems.
  • Communicates directly with the Service Advisor to inform customers of any additional services required.
  • Provides estimates for time needed for further repairs.
  • Performs warranty repairs according to manufacturer specifications.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as an automotive technician.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance.
  • Quick learner and effective team player.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Proficient computer skills and a willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Ability to operate electronic diagnostic tools.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
