Senior Auditor (Open)

Location:
Ciudad de México, CMX, Mexico

General Job Overview:

Under limited supervision, the following responsibilities are performed:
Plan and execute comprehensive financial, operational, and information systems audits, along with special projects under the guidance of the Audit Manager.
Lead significant audits and special projects, addressing complex business challenges.
Engage with diverse stakeholders and serve as a consultant for internal clients.
Support the development of junior staff.

Draft formal reports detailing the outcomes of integrated financial, operational, and information systems audits and special projects for distribution to Executive management and the Audit Committee.

Conduct audit risk assessments and formulate audit plans in line with departmental standards for management review and approval.
Evaluate audit tests conducted by staff to ensure thoroughness and proper documentation.

Identify opportunities for utilizing computer-assisted audit techniques and develop audit software to enhance productivity and coverage.

Ensure all audit and administrative tasks are completed within budgeted hours and project timelines.

Conduct interviews with personnel at all levels as necessary to fulfill audit assignments and hold meetings with management to discuss findings and formulate action plans.

Assist and mentor Auditors/Associate Auditors, directing their daily tasks as needed, and perform evaluations of their performance post-project.
Act as a liaison between management to communicate issues and track improvements related to audit projects.
Establish customer/supplier alignment agreements with management to ensure clarity of expectations and foster positive working relationships.
Stay updated on quality issues, tools, and techniques relevant to the company and audit initiatives.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in accounting, finance, information systems, or a related field is required.
  • Professional certifications such as CPA, CIA, and/or CFE are advantageous.

Experience:
  • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in internal/external audit, finance, consulting, and quality/process improvement.

Required Skills:
  • Strong analytical, numerical, presentation, interpersonal, judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Proven ability to effectively lead projects. Excellent oral and written communication, human relations, project management, and analytical skills are essential.
  • Willingness to travel to audit locations primarily within Latin America, the Caribbean, and Central America.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English is required. Proficiency in Portuguese is a plus.
