Job Overview

Pennant Solutions Group is seeking a Senior Accounting Specialist to join our dynamic finance team. This position offers a hybrid work model, requiring on-site presence a few times each week. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing accounting functions, particularly in the realms of Accounts Payable and Payroll.

As a vital member of our accounting department, the Senior Accounting Specialist will provide essential support to both property management teams and the central finance office. The role reports directly to the Executive Director of Finance and has indirect reporting responsibilities to the property Director of Finance/Controller.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to internal policies as well as relevant state and federal regulations regarding Accounts Payable and Payroll.
  • Support: Assist the Executive Director of Finance, property Director of Finance/Controller, and management in various accounting tasks.
Accounts Payable Management:
  • Oversee the verification of vendor invoices, manage their approval and coding, and enter them into the accounting system.
  • Ensure accurate vendor setup, including W9 documentation.
  • Process payments through checks, ACH, and wire transfers as necessary.
  • Facilitate timely payments to critical vendors.
  • Assist the Director of Finance with accruals as needed.
  • Reconcile the Accounts Payable module with the Balance Sheet and specific accrued liability accounts.
  • Prepare and issue annual 1099 forms accurately and punctually.
  • Address vendor inquiries promptly.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of vendor statements.
Payroll Oversight:
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of payroll regulations.
  • Process garnishments, 401K deductions, matches, tips, and service charges.
  • Manage 941 and W2 filings effectively.
  • Collaborate with Accounts Receivable, Income Audit, Assistant Director of Finance, and Human Resources.
  • Be available remotely to assist property teams, the central office, and vendors, particularly during payroll processing periods.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
