Grant Monitoring Specialist

As a Grant Monitoring Specialist with the City of Amarillo, Texas, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective management and oversight of federal and state grant-funded programs. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent analytical and communication skills to monitor grant reporting data, provide technical assistance to departments and agencies, and conduct ongoing research and education on current regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in a team of employees tasked with monitoring grant-funded programs, including Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Partnership Program, Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG), and others.
Oversight of grant reporting data within various computer information and reporting systems.
Provide technical assistance to departments and agencies in the implementation of projects and funding agreements.
Conduct ongoing research and education on current regulatory requirements for federal and state grant programs.
Prepare a variety of scheduled and unscheduled reports, including grant budgets and annual performance reports.
Requirements
A high school diploma or GED is required, with a Bachelor's degree preferred. A combination of education and work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Must have a valid Texas driver's license and ability to type 35 wpm. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required, as well as the ability to work well with a diverse staff and the public.
Work Environment
This position is Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, with occasional after-hour work to attend meetings, finish projects, and meet deadlines.
