Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Records Technician to join our team in the Records Section of the Tallahassee Police Department. As a Records Technician, you will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, coding, and automating designated law enforcement documents. You will also collect and prepare data for special reports, and interact with the public. This is a complex and highly specialized clerical role that requires strong organizational and communication skills.
Responsibilities
Review and analyze law enforcement documents for accuracy and completeness
Code and automate designated documents using specialized software
Collect and prepare data for special reports
Interact with the public and respond to inquiries
Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent recognized certificate
Three years of office clerical and/or typing experience in an office environment
Successful completion of secretarial or office clerical coursework beyond the high school level may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester hours or 720 classroom hours on a year-for-year basis
Successful completion of college coursework may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester hours per year on a year-for-year basis for the required experience
