Research Lab Technician Opportunity

The Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Virginia Commonwealth University is seeking a highly skilled Research Lab Technician to support ongoing research initiatives in the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting research projects, participating in experimental procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of the laboratory.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support research projects in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery
  • Participate in experimental procedures and data analysis
  • Ensure the smooth operation of the laboratory
  • Collaborate with the research team to achieve project goals
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in science or related field
  • 2 or more years of experience in a laboratory setting
  • Experience with cellular models, processing samples, sequencing, animal models, heart function, and muscle physiology
  • Experience working independently in a laboratory setting
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with cell culture, PCR, and protein analysis
  • Experience with a team science approach
  • Experience with IACUC submissions
