Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to join our team at the Lucas Lab within the Department of Chemistry at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct protein expression and purification experiments using advanced biochemical and analytical equipment.
  • Elucidate structural and biochemical features of amyloidogenic proteins through independent experimentation and data analysis.
  • Compile and present research findings in a clear and concise manner, contributing to the preparation of manuscripts and technical progress reports.
  • Develop and maintain a collegial and rigorous laboratory environment, promoting a culture of excellence and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.
  • Proven laboratory skills, including sterile technique, pipetting, and gel electrophoresis.
  • Excellent data organization, presentation, and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality results.
