Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our team at the Lucas Labs at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Research Focus:

The successful candidate will be involved in the elucidation of bioinspired mechanisms, including the synthesis of tunable coordination complexes and/or metal peptides/proteins that activate natural oxidants and the mechanistic characterization of their reactivity profiles.

Requirements:

A Ph.D. in Chemistry or a related discipline is required. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with air-free synthetic procedures and handling techniques, as well as expertise in spectroscopic characterization of compounds and reaction pathways, including NMR, GCMS, FTIR, UV/vis, and EPR.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be expected to design, execute, and analyze experiments, contribute to the preparation of manuscripts, and promote a collegial and rigorous laboratory environment. Opportunities to mentor graduate and undergraduate students will be available.
