Job Title:
Payroll Manager

Overview:

Virtual is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Payroll Manager to oversee all aspects of payroll operations within our organization.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll, compliance with relevant regulations, and implementation of best practices.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end payroll process including data entry, calculation of wages, benefits, taxes, and deductions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay abreast of federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations, ensuring compliance in all payroll-related activities. File payroll tax returns and other related documents accurately and timely.
  • Utilize payroll software to maintain employee records, process payroll transactions, and generate reports.
  • Conduct regular audits of payroll data to identify and rectify discrepancies. Generate various payroll reports for management and regulatory purposes.
  • Address payroll-related inquiries from employees regarding wages, deductions, taxes, and other payroll matters.
  • Liaise with external vendors such as benefits providers, tax authorities, and payroll service providers to ensure seamless payroll operations and resolve any issues.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of payroll policies, procedures, and controls to maintain accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
  • Train new employees and managers on payroll processes, policies, and systems. Provide ongoing support and education to ensure understanding and adherence to payroll practices.
  • Work closely with HR, Finance, and other departments to ensure alignment of payroll activities with overall business objectives and processes.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and cost savings in payroll operations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism in handling confidential information.
