We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Principal Systems Engineer to join our team at Northrop Grumman. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for maintaining the smooth operation of classified multi-user computer systems, maintaining lab infrastructure, and supporting security procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Interact with users to determine hardware and software requirements.
- Installation and configuration of hardware, operating systems, and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products.
- Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
- Ancillary duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Evaluation of vendor products and providing recommendations for purchase.
- Providing backup and recovery services.
- Maintaining system documentation.
- Tuning system performance.
- Building and managing systems and computing assets.
- Applicant must be experienced in STIG configuration, classified processing, and security procedures.
- Install, harden, and maintain computers in a Risk Management Framework (RMF) environment.
- Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline with 9 years of relevant experience or Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline with 7 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with systems administration of Windows and Linux workstations and servers.
- Must have an active DoD Top Secret clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
- Familiarity with network-attached storage (NAS) and storage area network (SAN) technologies.
- DoD 8570 Level 2 Certification, such as Security+ CE.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.
- Knowledge of virtualization technology, including ESXi, VMware, and Hyper-V.
- Risk Management Framework (RMF) knowledge and experience.
- Knowledge of Nessus, Splunk, SCAP, POA&Ms, system audits, vulnerability scanning, and Risk Management Framework (RMF) system security package development.
- Competitive salary range: $114,900 - $172,300.
