Job Description

At WM H Leahy Assoc., we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sanitation Lead to oversee the sanitation processes within our beverage manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring that all equipment, production areas, and facilities are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation to comply with regulatory requirements and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sanitation Process Management: Lead, learn, and practice all written current good manufacturing processes (cGMPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as they apply to cleaning and sanitizing of manufacturing equipment, facilities, and all general areas.
  • Team Leadership: Manage the sanitation team, schedule cleaning tasks, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance sanitation efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Chemical Management: Read, understand, and follow manufacturer's directions for all chemicals used in the process of sanitizing manufacturing equipment.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Properly use PPE to safeguard against exposure to chemicals, electrical hazards, and eye and ear hazards.
  • Cleaning and Sanitizing: Mixes sanitizing solutions for cleaning parts, equipment, and facilities, and cleans parts, equipment, equipment carts, racks, polishing brushes, mops, and mop buckets.
  • Log Maintenance: Maintains daily logs directly associated with specifically assigned areas, and report any deviations to the Sanitation Supervisor.
  • Facilities Maintenance: Assist with various bathroom duties, maintain cleanliness of water fountains, and maintain supplies throughout the building.
  • Grounds Maintenance: Maintain the facility and grounds, including weeding, trash removal, and overall cleanliness of area outside building.
  • Quality Assurance: Complete assigned daily sanitation on plant equipment and facility, and maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment to ensure efficiency, employee safety, and product integrity.
Requirements:
  • Education: High school diploma or GED, and 3+ years work experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Language Skills: Read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
  • Math Skills: Comprehend basic math: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, weights and measures, and efficient use of a calculator.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods of time, push, pull, lift, climb, bend, stoop, squat, walk, and fine motor skills to work with various tools and equipment.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work in an environment that contains fumes, dust, odors, low level noise, and temperature and ventilation variations while wearing any appropriate safety and/or protective clean room apparel required.
