Job Title: Senior Software Architect

At Siemens Mobility, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Architect to join our team. As a key member of our cross-functional team, you will be responsible for designing and supporting mission-critical systems that form the backbone of technologies like network optimization and an autonomous rail network.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Help negotiate priorities and resolve conflicts among project stakeholders (such as customers, product management, and engineering)
  • Represent requirements information in graphical forms that augment textual representations in natural language, including using modeling languages already established in the development organization
  • Critically evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a more general understanding, distinguish presented user requests from the underlying true needs, establish appropriate tracing mechanisms and links between project artifacts, and distinguish solution ideas from requirements
  • Communicate information effectively to customers, marketing, managers, and technical staff
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in Systems Engineering and Software Architecture
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems, design patterns, architectural styles, and trade-offs
  • Experience with cloud technologies
  • Experience in designing and supporting mission-critical systems
  • Experience in balancing and prioritizing work based on needs from multiple stakeholders
  • Communication skills to talk with individuals and groups about their needs and ask the right questions
  • Listening skills to understand what people say and to detect what they might be hesitant to say
  • Observational skills to validate data obtained via other techniques and expose new areas for elicitation
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the Railroad Domain
  • Experience with CENELEC (EN 50128 / 50129), US IEEE 1483 / 1012, AREMA Section 17, or similar
