About the Role

The Controller will provide strategic leadership and coordination of Daifuku's financial planning and budget management functions, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles. This role will also be responsible for managing the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages for Daifuku, providing analysis and documentation to senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the development of budgets and forecasts, reviewing variances and providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budgets, identifying areas for cost reduction and process optimization.
  • Prepare and manage all internal and external reporting, including preparation of reports required by the parent company.
  • Develop and manage financial outlooks and forecasts for assigned operations, providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Manage quarterly reviews and year-end audits for independent external auditors, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Direct financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting.
  • Oversight responsibility for ensuring a proper internal control environment, direct compliance activities, and coordinate all financial activities.
  • Manage JSOX compliance, coordinating between the Daifuku Internal Audit Department, the external auditors, and Wynright.
  • Implement best practices in worldwide accounting organizations, ensuring consistency and efficiency in financial processes.
  • Develop and manage reports and other documentation for the Executive Team and other leadership teams, providing insights and recommendations.
  • Direct department staff personnel responsibilities, including effective recruiting, selection, performance management, motivation, pay, and development of assigned staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience; Master's degree a plus.
  • Certified Public Accountant preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of public accounting experience or accounting experience within a public company with heavy exposure to budgeting, financial reporting, and Sarbanes-Oxley/JSOX.
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • SAP or similar ERP experience is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of GAAP.
  • Mastery of Microsoft Excel and PowerBI (Microsoft Data Visualization) or similar experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to research and propose company positions on complex accounting issues.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees.

Compensation

USD $130,000.00 - $145,000.00
