Construction Financial Analyst

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled financial analyst within our Construction & Prefabrication Services (C&PS) strategic business unit. This role will involve supporting project financial management, month-end closing processes, and comprehensive financial reporting and analysis. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical capabilities, along with a commitment to integrity, teamwork, and exceptional organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and document construction forecasts and revenue recognition methodologies.
  • Create reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate and oversee project activities.
  • Examine project cost estimates and report on discrepancies.
  • Prepare journal entries and perform account reconciliations.
  • Assess purchase orders, invoices, and vendor agreements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the construction sector.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and their application.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective time management and organizational abilities.
  • Capable of critical thinking and problem-solving.

Expected Achievements:

Within the first 3 months, you will:

  • Complete the Atkore onboarding program.
  • Establish relationships with key stakeholders relevant to this position.
  • Gain familiarity with our internal software and operational processes.

Within 6 months, you will:

  • Assume full responsibility for project reporting, forecasting, analysis, and audits.
  • Manage recurring journal entries and reconciliations independently.
  • Assist the Controller in generating ad-hoc financial reports.
  • Support the Controller in analyzing and reporting balance sheet changes.

Within 12 months, you will:

  • Propose enhancements to existing processes related to your responsibilities.
  • Become a subject matter expert in your assigned processes.
