POSITION SUMMARY

As a Host at MDRD Restaurant, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the dining area. This includes greeting guests, answering phone inquiries, and processing takeout orders. You will uphold the service standards of the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel, creating a collaborative atmosphere that ensures quality service for every patron.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet all guests warmly and introduce them to the menu and daily specials.
  • Prepare the restaurant for service by following daily setup and breakdown checklists.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of menu items and their ingredients, including happy hour specials.
  • Stay informed about local events to provide guests with relevant recommendations.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations, including completing temperature logs and managing inventory effectively.
  • Strive to exceed guest expectations and enhance their dining experience.
  • Understand job responsibilities and demonstrate the necessary skills to perform tasks efficiently.
  • Complete daily cleaning duties and maintain a tidy work environment.
  • Arrive on time for shifts and adhere to attendance policies.
  • Engage in team meetings and communicate openly with management and colleagues.
  • Exhibit a positive and courteous demeanor while collaborating with others.
  • Maintain a professional appearance by adhering to the dress code.
  • Act with urgency to address guest concerns and resolve issues independently.
  • Utilize time effectively to meet departmental productivity standards.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce waste and enhance revenue through suggestive selling.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized, participating in recycling efforts.
  • Follow safety protocols established by AHC Hospitality.
  • Complete TIPS training and responsibly serve alcoholic beverages.

DAILY TASKS

  • Answer phone calls and manage takeout orders.
  • Provide attentive service to guests in accordance with AHC standards.
  • Monitor and minimize food waste.
  • Ensure cleanliness and thorough deep cleaning of the restaurant.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and maintain open communication with management.
  • Adhere to environmental policies and health regulations.
  • Actively engage in various service roles, including counter service and table service.
  • Complete any additional tasks as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

Prior experience in a restaurant setting is preferred.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

A high school diploma or GED is required, along with relevant experience or training.
