About the Role

Garnet Health is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our Laboratory team at Garnet Health Medical Center Middletown. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect blood specimens from patients in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform phlebotomy functions and process samples as directed by physician orders.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety during the collection process.
  • Operate laboratory equipment and computer systems to manage specimen collection and processing.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure accurate and timely test results.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent with knowledge of computer science.
  • Completion of a phlebotomy course with at least 100 hours of clinical rotation in a healthcare setting.
  • One year of recent phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • National Phlebotomy certification required within six months of hire.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment with frequent exposure to biological hazards. The successful candidate must be able to lift 20 pounds and push 100 pounds, and be able to stand for long periods of time.
