The Inpatient Phlebotomist is a vital member of our Laboratory Support Services team at Middlesex Health. As a skilled professional, you will be responsible for the collection and processing of specimens for laboratory analysis. Your expertise will ensure the accuracy and efficiency of our laboratory testing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and process specimens from patients of all ages, utilizing aseptic techniques and following established protocols.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of laboratory test requirements, departmental policies, and regulatory guidelines.
- Develop and maintain effective communication skills to interact with patients, healthcare providers, and laboratory staff.
- Collaborate with the laboratory team to ensure seamless specimen processing and testing.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with laboratory procedures and technologies.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Phlebotomy certificate or 1 year of experience in a clinical setting.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in laboratory information systems.
- Previous phlebotomy experience with all age groups.
