Cloud Storage Software Engineering Manager

Job Summary
Microsoft is seeking a highly experienced Principal Software Engineering Manager to lead our SFTP offering and other charters related to the Azure front end services. As a key member of the Azure Storage team, you will be responsible for driving the technical direction of the service, managing a team of engineers, and delivering high-quality features and changes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a team of engineers, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities to ensure their growth and career success.
- Own and drive the technical direction of the SFTP product, ensuring it meets the needs of our customers and aligns with Microsoft's overall strategy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy cloud-based services and platforms that meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and security.
- Research and analyze technical issues, providing clear and concise solutions to the team and stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of distributed systems, cloud computing, and storage technologies to drive innovation and improvement in the Azure Storage service.
- Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) for the SFTP product, ensuring its smooth operation and resolving issues promptly.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field, with 6+ years of technical engineering experience, or equivalent experience.
- Proven track record of managing a team of engineers, with a strong focus on quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
- Experience in designing, developing, and deploying cloud-based services and platforms, with a deep understanding of distributed systems and storage technologies.
- Strong technical leadership skills, with the ability to drive technical direction and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
