Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Payroll Accountant Assistant to join our team at W.M. Klorman Construction Corp in Woodland Hills, CA.

Estimated Salary: $75,000 - $95,000 per year

This is a challenging role that requires strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and maintaining employee benefits, compensation, wages, evaluation, discipline, and relationships within the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and audit W-4s, payroll balance sheets, YTD earnings, etc.;
  • Set up and update systems to reflect the current employee base, including wages, benefits, sick, and vacation time in line with agreements (union and non-union);
  • Pay payroll taxes weekly with State and Federal; Prepare quarterly and yearly Payroll tax filing with State and Federal;
  • Reconcile banks;
  • Maintain employee benefits programs and inform employees about benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; recommending benefit programs to management; directing the processing of benefit claims; obtaining and evaluating benefit contract bids; awarding benefit contracts; designing and conducting educational programs on benefit programs;
  • Evaluate legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements; maintaining records;
  • Develop and maintain management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures;
  • Maintain historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system; keeping past and current records;
  • Complete human resource operational requirements by counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising employee job performance; advising management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues;
  • Administer benefits programs such as life, health, and dental insurance, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance;
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
