Technical Program Manager, Optimized Checkout and Link Experience

About the TeamAt Stripe, product development is an extremely collaborative effort between engineering, design, data science, legal, risk, and go-to-market teams. You'd be joining a group of experienced Engineering, Product Management, and Strategy and Operations leaders who have a track record of successfully building large-scale business and products that are collectively impacting millions of users around the world.
Our Team's FocusStripe's Optimized Checkout and Link teams are passionate about helping merchants build highly optimized, delightful checkout experiences. This includes Stripe's Web Elements, Checkout, and Link, which helps Stripe's merchants deliver frictionless and secure checkout experiences by auto-filling customers' payment information. Link enables customers to checkout in just 6 seconds, increasing conversion rates for Stripe's merchants by over 7%. Link is available on the sites of hundreds of thousands of merchants-customers can save payment info on any Link-supported site, and pay in one click across the Link merchant network.
Your RoleAs a Technical Program Manager, you will play a key role leading complex programs across multiple engineering, product, and cross-functional (legal, risk, go-to-market, and other) teams spanning Stripe. You will be an active contributor to the overall strategy of the program, drive technical decision-making, and drive the execution of the program through all phases from planning to delivery. You will have the opportunity to implement mechanisms that make your programs effective and scale them to edit org-level processes.
Responsibilities- Drive functional and technical delivery of key team-, org-, and company-wide initiatives
- Collaborate with engineering teams to design, scope, and shepherd features
- Create functional specs, project plans, and roadmaps
- Own and execute multiple software engineering programs simultaneously
- Help drive product decisions to align with higher company initiatives
- Help influence peers/ managers and build consensus while dealing with ambiguity
- Drive clarity across all stakeholders on the goal, problem, and outcomes the team is working towards
- Understand the technical problems that need to be solved, and work closely with necessary stakeholders of the engineering teams, technical systems/processes involved to define and manage the most effective way to enable teams to deliver solutions
- Bring rapid clarity to ambiguous situations, resolve them effectively, communicate decisions efficiently, and enable teams to move towards implementing solutions
- 6+ years of product management or technical program management experience with extensive experience partnering closely with software engineering teams
- Experience providing program management during all phases of software development
- Proven track record of defining and executing complex programs across multiple functions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to establish strong relationships with stakeholders and senior leaders
- Thrive in solving ambiguous problems and see opportunities where others see chaos
- Experience influencing technical decisions particularly as they impact reliability, security, latency, and scalability
- Relentless focus on users and solving for their needs and wants
- Have strong prioritization frameworks to drive development for the product team and customers
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, engineering, or a related field
- Experience with consumer or payments-related products
