Patient Accounts Coordinator – Full Time Remote

The Mindful Lemon, Inc. is seeking a committed and empathetic Patient Accounts Coordinator who is eager to develop within our expanding group practice.

Key Responsibilities:

The Patient Accounts Coordinator will report to the Billing Supervisor and Operations Manager, managing all aspects of revenue cycle operations. Responsibilities include:

  • Submitting claims electronically via TheraNest within one business day of service.
  • Collecting patient payments promptly after service.
  • Reconciling bank payments and electronic remittance advices (ERAs) within two business days of receipt.
  • Managing EFTs and following up with payors on any discrepancies.
  • Conducting weekly reviews of overdue patient invoices and insurance payments, escalating to collections as necessary.
  • Addressing denied claims through edits and resubmissions, including insurance company follow-ups.
  • Performing monthly eligibility verifications for existing clients and updating records accordingly.
  • Monitoring utilization for EAP clients during billing.
  • Informing patients of any changes to their financial responsibilities.
  • Submitting claims to secondary insurance when applicable.
  • Responding to inquiries regarding patient accounts.
  • Reconciling patient accounts and conducting secondary benefits checks for new patients.
  • Confirming benefits with insurers and making necessary adjustments based on claim outcomes.
  • Completing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum of one year of experience in Revenue Cycle Management.

At least one year of experience in Behavioral Health Billing.

Familiarity with TheraNest EHR is advantageous.

Spanish language proficiency is a plus.

Ability to work independently is essential.
