Position Overview

GoodLeap is in search of a seasoned and proactive Vice President of Cybersecurity to join our leadership team. This pivotal role is essential for ensuring the security and reliability of our innovative financial solutions, protecting our clientele, and upholding the integrity of our platform. As the Vice President of Cybersecurity, you will guide and mentor a team of security experts in application security, cloud security, and compliance; collaborate with various departments, and spearhead the creation and execution of comprehensive security strategies.

Leadership and Strategy:

Formulate and implement a holistic information security and application security strategy that aligns with GoodLeap's business objectives and regulatory mandates.

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of security professionals.

Promote a culture of security awareness and best practices throughout the organization.

Engage with executive leadership to prioritize security initiatives and resource allocation.

Security Operations:

Oversee the deployment and management of security technologies and tools to safeguard the organization's assets.

Guide the team in monitoring and addressing security incidents, vulnerabilities, and threats promptly and effectively.

Ensure regular security evaluations, audits, and penetration testing to identify and mitigate risks.

Guarantee compliance with applicable regulatory standards and industry benchmarks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, PCI-DSS).

Application Security:

Lead initiatives to establish secure coding practices and application security protocols.

Collaborate with engineering and product teams to integrate security into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

Supervise code reviews and security assessments to identify and rectify vulnerabilities.

Direct security training and awareness initiatives for developers and other stakeholders.

Cloud Security:

Develop and execute a cloud security strategy and roadmap that aligns with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.

Oversee the design, implementation, and monitoring of cloud security measures to protect cloud environments from threats and vulnerabilities.

Ensure adherence to industry standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST) and regulatory requirements concerning cloud security.

Manage our suite of security tools, including SAST, SCA, DIST, and IIST.

Risk Management:

Lead the identification, evaluation, and prioritization of security risks to the organization's assets and operations.

Formulate and implement risk management strategies and mitigation plans.

Create and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation.

Stay informed about emerging security threats, trends, and technologies to proactively address potential risks.

Collaboration and Communication:

Partner with cross-functional teams, including IT, legal, compliance, and operations, to ensure cohesive security efforts.

Communicate security risks, strategies, and initiatives to executive leadership.

Represent GoodLeap in industry forums, conferences, and working groups focused on information security.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in information security, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and managing security teams in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of security principles, practices, and technologies, including encryption, authentication, and network security.
  • Experience with Cloud Service Providers, particularly AWS, focusing on security configuration and tools.
  • Familiarity with secure software development practices and application security frameworks (e.g., OWASP).
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, PCI-DSS).
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH are highly desirable.
