About the Role

Cancer Care Centers of Brevard is seeking a highly skilled Medical Physicist to join our team in the Radiation Oncology department. As a Medical Physicist, you will play a critical role in the design, optimization, and delivery of radiation treatment plans for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Optimization: Determine the need for, specify, and access dosimetric and treatment planning equipment to ensure accurate and precise delivery of radiation treatment plans.
  • Technical Evaluation: Participate in the specification, selection, and acceptance of radiation-producing machines, accessories, and computerized treatment-planning systems.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain responsibility for the design and implementation of the aspects of the quality management program that involve the use of the external beam radiotherapy equipment.
  • Collaboration: Advise and consult with physicians to provide advice or direction to technical staff when patients are being planned or treated.
  • Documentation: Oversee and maintain all required documentation relating to radiation treatment plans and equipment.
  • Training and Development: Participate in the clinical instruction of newly hired radiation staff and radiation therapy students.
Requirements
  • Post-doctoral degree in Physics from an accredited college or university or Masters
  • Minimum three to five years experience in radiation physics
  • Must maintain certification and continuing education requirements outlined by American College of Radiology
  • Current certification in field by American Board of Radiology or Board of Medical Physics
  • Must obtain and maintain certification and valid state license for medical physics as required
