Medical Dosimetrist

Cancer Specialists of North Florida is seeking a skilled Medical Dosimetrist to join our Radiation Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for charting radiation treatment plans, determining treatment dimensions, and promoting the implementation of treatment plans for radiation therapy patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and supervise the activities of the simulator and treatment planning functions to ensure safe, accurate, and quality radiation therapy.
- Work closely with Radiation Oncologists and radiation physicists to plan radiation therapy by performing radiation dose distribution, dosage calculations, and constructing treatment devices.
- Assist in localization procedures using CT or conventional radiographic techniques.
- Obtain patient contours and assist in outlining anatomical structures and the target volume in three dimensions.
- Collaborate with physicians to plan radiation treatments.
- Determine required treatment time or monitor settings for delivery of prescribed dose.
- Prepare treatment aids and beam modifying devices.
- Perform verification of treatment plans through treatment simulation using CT or conventional radiographic techniques.
- Assist therapist staff in the implementation of treatment plans.
- Perform record keeping and documentation of treatment parameters for all patients undergoing radiation therapy.
- Responsible for entry of treatment parameters in the record/verify system.
- Observe all safety and health regulations and ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations.
- Perform work in accordance with policies, procedures, and standards.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program and/or at least 5 years of experience in a Radiation Oncology Department.
- Licensed Radiation Therapist or a certificate of completion from an accredited 1-2 year school of Medical Dosimetry.
Additional Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledgeable of 3D Treatment Planning, Isodose Planning, Irregular Field dose calculations, and simple dose calculations.
- Knowledge of IMRT Treatment Planning and CT Simulation preferred.
