Job Summary:

Cancer Specialists of North Florida is seeking a highly skilled Junior Dosimetrist to join our Radiation Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for charting radiation treatment plans, determining treatment dimensions, and promoting the implementation of treatment plans for radiation therapy patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and supervise the activities of the simulator and treatment planning functions to ensure provision of safe, accurate, and quality radiation therapy.
  • Work closely with Radiation Oncologists and radiation physicists to plan the course of radiation therapy by performing radiation dose distribution, dosage calculations, and constructing treatment devices.
  • Assist in localization procedures using CT or conventional radiographic techniques.
  • Obtain patient contours and assist in outlining anatomical structures and the target volume in three dimensions.
  • Determine required treatment time or monitor settings for delivery of prescribed dose.
  • Prepare treatment aids and beam modifying devices, including head holders, molds, shields, cradles, compensators, and others as needed.
  • Perform verification of treatment plans through treatment simulation using CT or conventional radiographic techniques.
  • Assist the therapist staff in the implementation of treatment plans.
  • Perform record keeping and documentation of treatment parameters for all patients undergoing radiation therapy.
  • Responsible for entry of treatment parameters in the record/verify system.
  • Observes all safety and health regulations and ensures compliance with State and Federal regulations.
  • Performs work in accordance with policies, procedures, and standards.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program and/or at least 5 years of experience in a Radiation Oncology Department and/or graduate of an accredited school of Medical Dosimetry.
  • Licensed Radiation Therapist or a certificate of completion from an accredited - 2 year school of Medical Dosimetry.
