Job Title: Accounting Administrator

At Davis Cartage Company, we are seeking an experienced Accounting Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting team, including month-end and year-end processes, accounts payable and receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll and utilities, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, check runs, fixed asset activity, and debt activity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze accounting data to produce financial reports and statements
  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles
  • Coordinate and complete annual audits
  • Provide recommendations to improve systems and procedures
  • Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy
  • Meet financial accounting objectives
  • Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions and deal with abstract and concrete variables
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
