Engineering at Brex

The Engineering division encompasses Data, IT, Security, and Software, tasked with developing innovative products and infrastructure for both internal and external stakeholders. Our teams operate autonomously yet collaboratively, eager to learn, teach, and continuously enhance our processes. Together, we aim to create robust and scalable systems that facilitate Brex's rapid growth and empower our clients to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate internal developer experience feedback to advocate for and refine developer platforms.
  • Manage and maintain essential API infrastructure that supports all of Brex's front-end applications.
  • Upgrade critical shared library dependencies within our Kotlin ecosystem.
  • Identify and implement enhancements for reliability and performance.
  • Uphold our high engineering standards, ensuring consistency across codebases, infrastructure, and processes.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a platform engineering capacity.
  • Proficiency in Kotlin or Golang.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes.
  • Background in Platform or Full-Stack development.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
  • Willingness to work in-office two days a week.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with GraphQL, particularly Federated GraphQL.
  • Familiarity with Bazel, especially if you have developed rules or maintained Bazel as a platform.
  • Extensive experience with various multi-language build systems.
  • Experience in extending Jetbrains IDEs.

Compensation Overview

The anticipated salary range for this position is between $152,000 and $190,000. However, the starting base salary will be influenced by several factors, including the candidate's location, skills, experience, market demand, and internal pay equity. Depending on the role, equity and other forms of compensation may be included as part of the overall compensation package.
