THE POSITION
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Infrastructure Automation Engineer to join the Service Framework team within the Developer Lifecycle organization in our Core Infrastructure group. The Service Framework is tasked with service communication and application tooling utilized company-wide to support extensive microservice architectures deployed across various locations, each with unique geographic and regulatory considerations. The team is responsible for defining and supporting microservice architectures and patterns (schemas, protocols, API gateway strategies, service mesh), secrets distribution systems, and more, all aimed at enhancing the FanDuel application maintenance and execution experience.
We are looking for passionate and experienced technologists who are strong communicators and committed to continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will confidently propose practical solutions to complex challenges and be eager to learn from and educate others. In this role, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, addressing intricate issues to create world-class infrastructure as we continually enhance our innovative developer experience.

What we seek in our next teammate:
- Extensive experience with microservice architectures, patterns, and tools, including managing Kubernetes clusters, API gateways, and service meshes; familiarity with GraphQL, OpenAPI, and protobuf.
- Strong background in cloud-based infrastructure, preferably AWS, with infrastructure-as-code experience (e.g., Terraform).
- Experience in software development (e.g., Go, Java, Typescript, Python).
- Proficiency in delivering programs and projects using tools like Jira.
