The Before and After School Program Supervisor will assist in managing the daily operations of our School Age Care programs. This role involves collaborating with the Site Supervisor to ensure a nurturing and secure environment for all children. The Supervisor will also guide and support Program Leaders and Assistants in delivering engaging activities and maintaining a safe atmosphere. We are looking for candidates in various locations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain accurate attendance records for all participants and staff, including communication with parents regarding absences.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children by adhering to supervision standards and maintaining constant head counts during transitions.
  • Verify that only authorized individuals are allowed to sign children in and out of the program, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
  • Follow established protocols for First Aid and emergency situations, completing necessary documentation as required.
  • Utilize effective group management techniques to address behavioral issues in line with organizational policies.
  • Delegate daily responsibilities among staff, including activity leadership, snack assistance, homework support, and clean-up duties.
  • Encourage staff to serve as positive role models for children.
  • Promote YMCA programs and events to families and assist in organizing special activities.
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic environment by ensuring that all areas are properly sanitized before and after use.
  • Conduct monthly safety drills and document results to comply with licensing standards.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development, completing required training and meetings.
  • Ensure all necessary certifications are current, including background checks and health assessments.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support program objectives.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School Diploma required; Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Education, youth work, or related field preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with staff, parents, and school personnel.
  • Problem-solving abilities that align with the mission and goals of the YMCA.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • 1 year of supervisory experience and 1-3 years of experience working with children in group settings.
  • Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications are mandatory.
  • Experience with licensing requirements is preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to remain active and supervise children in various environments. This includes the ability to bend, kneel, lift up to 30 pounds, and maintain visual and auditory awareness of all children in the program.
