POSITION SUMMARY:
The Dietary Supervisor is responsible for enhancing the health and wellness of residents through effective nutrition management.

Under the guidance of the Food Service Director, this role ensures proper oversight and functionality of the Dietary Department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist in training, evaluating, and supervising staff under the direct guidance of the Food Service Director.
2. Oversee meal service on the tray line and in the dining area, ensuring timely and high-quality dietary services for patients, residents, visitors, and staff.
3. Ensure adherence to all facility policies and procedures by dietary department personnel.
4. Maintain safety and sanitation standards, ensuring compliance among all supervised staff.
5. Report any equipment concerns to the Food Service Director or designated personnel.
6. Document employee and guest meals as required.
7. Complete necessary data entry as directed by the Food Service Director (e.g., extension sheets, tray tickets).
8. Execute all delegated tasks from the Food Service Director promptly and effectively.
9. Assign tasks and ensure their completion, taking corrective action when necessary.
10. Facilitate orientation for newly hired staff.
11. Conduct audits as requested by the Food Service Director.
12. Assist in evaluating the job performance of dietary staff.
13. Mentor newly hired staff, providing feedback on their progress and addressing concerns.
14. Order supplies and manage monthly inventory as directed.
15. Ensure proper recording of food and beverage temperatures for meals, addressing any discrepancies immediately.
16. Oversee the safe storage of food in compliance with all policies and procedures.
17. Uphold HIPAA privacy and confidentiality standards.
18. Adhere to the Code of Conduct while performing job functions.
19. Be knowledgeable of and comply with the Resident's Bill of Rights and related laws.
20. Communicate effectively regarding the Corporate Compliance Program.
21. Follow established policies and procedures diligently.
22. Implement universal precautions and infection control techniques.
23. Contribute to facility Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives.
24. Recognize and report potential hazards, following safety protocols.
25. Utilize supplies and equipment economically.
26. Attend all required in-service training.
27. Maintain a professional appearance and punctuality.
28. Foster teamwork and a positive work environment.

EDUCATION:
Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent
