This role is essential for upholding cleanliness and hygiene standards for dining ware, cookware, and utensils, utilizing both automated and manual cleaning techniques. The individual in this position will also ensure that the dishwashing area is kept as a clean, safe, and sanitary environment. This position operates within a culinary setting, where employees may encounter hot water, slippery surfaces, waste disposal systems, and cleaning agents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and rinse soiled dishes, glassware, and cooking utensils, placing them in racks for the dishwashing machine.
- Arrange and stack sanitized dishes.
- Change the dishwater in the machine hourly.
- Manually wash pots, pans, and trays.
- Dispose of trash and waste in designated areas.
- Prepare and empty soak tubs with cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
- Clean up spills to maintain dry kitchen floors.
- Alert management if the dish machine's wash or rinse cycle temperatures fall below safety standards.
- Ensure proper handwashing before handling clean dishes after touching dirty ones.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Occasional requirements to sit, climb, balance, stoop, or kneel.
- Must be at least 17 years of age.
- Frequent lifting or moving of objects up to 25 pounds is necessary.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English at a 10th-grade level.
- Comprehension of recipes, station guides, sanitation practices, equipment usage, service etiquette, and safety protocols.
- Work hours may vary based on operational needs, including frequent evenings and weekends.
