Job Summary

The Metropolitan YMCA of the Oranges is seeking a highly motivated and mission-driven Site Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of our School Age, Before and Aftercare program site. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating a safe, caring, and enriching environment for all children, while ensuring that YMCA policies and licensing standards are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Management: Oversee all aspects of the program, including planning and delivering the weekly curriculum, managing staff, and ensuring compliance with YMCA policies and licensing standards.
  • Staff Supervision: Coach and guide Program Group Leaders/Group Assistants to create a positive and supportive work environment, while ensuring that staff are meeting their responsibilities and adhering to YMCA policies.
  • Child Safety and Well-being: Ensure the safety and well-being of all children enrolled in the program, including maintaining accurate attendance records, following supervision standards, and responding to emergency situations.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Build strong relationships with parents, school staff, and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth and successful program.
  • Professional Development: Complete 20 hours of professional development annually, attend all YMCA training and meetings as required, and maintain certifications as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma, Associate/Bachelor's Degree in Education, Youth Work, Recreation, or related field preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: One to three years of supervisory experience, with one to three years of experience working with youth in a group setting in Before/Afterschool programs.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate with all levels, problem-solving and decision-making skills, and strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Certifications: CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required.
