I. Objective of the Role

The Sales Representative serves as an introductory sales role within KARL STORZ Endoscopy-America, Inc. (KSEA). Reporting to the Regional Sales Associate Manager, this role collaborates closely with the local sales team. The Sales Representative will receive guidance from the Regional Sales Associate Manager and the local sales team regarding daily tasks and priorities. Responsibilities include engaging in sales and related activities, which encompass planning and executing the marketing and promotion of all KARL STORZ products within the designated market. The Sales Representative will equally support all KSEA Business Units that have a Sales Executive in the assigned area.

This prominent and effective entry-level program is designed to transition into the Sales Executive role and is expected to allocate over 70% of their time at client locations. Compensation includes a competitive salary along with a bonus structure based on the attainment of specified sales objectives. Following the training period, the expectation is for this role to operate independently while collaborating on assignments and sales targets as directed by the Regional Sales Associate Manager and assigned Sales Executives. Candidates must reside in Manhattan, NY or nearby regions.

II. Key Responsibilities

Sales Activities (70% of time)

  • Contribute to achieving annual sales targets assigned to their territory by:
    • Conducting product demonstrations and evaluations for customers.
    • Effectively presenting and distinguishing KARL STORZ product features, advantages, and procedural applications in line with product specifications.
    • Building and maintaining compliant, strong working relationships with healthcare professionals, including nurses, physicians, and administrative staff across all assigned accounts.
    • Providing sales quotes and service agreements to clients.
  • Support promotional initiatives initiated by the company.
  • Develop and implement compliant sales strategies to acquire new business.
  • Continuously enhance knowledge of KARL STORZ products and procedures, striving to increase sales to clients, including hospitals and surgical centers.

Other Responsibilities (30% of time)

  • Train and educate client personnel to ensure satisfaction and long-term reliability of all KARL STORZ products purchased under contract.
  • Instruct clients on the proper use of KARL STORZ products at their facilities, ensuring compliance with usage instructions.
  • Assist with customer management, providing updates on product status, pricing changes, and resolving issues.
  • Facilitate the return of KARL STORZ products and service/repair items as needed.
  • Manage and return assigned KARL STORZ demonstration and evaluation products.

III. Essential Skills

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 35 lbs. Employees may request assistance when handling equipment.

Mental and Emotional Requirements: Ability to adapt and demonstrate flexibility in response to changing priorities and work conditions.

Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication, negotiation, and collaboration skills with various stakeholders.

Travel: Daily travel to various customer accounts is required. A valid driver's license is necessary. Up to 10% travel outside the assigned region may occur.

IV. Minimum Qualifications

Required

Experience: 2-4 years of relevant experience, preferably in sales.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.

Technical Skills: Proficiency with technology and/or medical products.

Soft Skills: Proven track record of exceeding targets, exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, and a strong focus on customer experience.

V. Core Requirements

Accountability: Generally managed.

Decision-Making: Involves diverse tasks.

Financial Responsibility: Supervised responsibility for revenue and costs.

Safety: Adhere to KARL STORZ safety protocols.

Quality: Comply with KARL STORZ Quality Management System.

Supervision: This role does not involve supervising others.
