We are seeking a highly skilled Anatomic Pathology Technician to join our team at Fairview Health Services. As a key member of our Acute Care Laboratory, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Perform all work processes necessary for the preparation or procurement of specimens used for high complexity testing.
- Collaborate with customers to assure an exceptional customer experience.
- Work independently under general supervision, prioritizing tasks and managing workload effectively.
- Follow established guidelines to obtain specimens, accession/order enter specimens/tests into the computer system, and evaluate diagnostic preparations for quality.
- Participate in Laboratory Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement, and Laboratory Compliance Programs.
- 24 credits college coursework with at least 12 credits in chemistry or biological sciences, or 24 credits college coursework + 2 years of medical laboratory experience.
- Preferred qualifications include a BS degree and 1-2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory or anatomic diagnostic laboratory.
- Demonstrate the ability to work under stress in a variety of situations, exercise independent judgment, and demonstrate manual dexterity.
- Basic computer and keyboarding skills, as well as strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
