Job Summary

The Multifamily Maintenance Technician is responsible for diagnosing maintenance issues, making repairs, and completing maintenance requests in a timely manner. This role involves maintaining the overall condition of the apartment community, including grounds and common areas, to provide a quality living environment for residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance Duties: Performs maintenance duties, including work orders and preventative maintenance activities, with minimal supervision consistent with company policies and procedures.
  • Grounds Maintenance: Maintains grounds, common areas, and amenities by picking up/emptying trash and debris, vacuuming, mopping, pressure washing breezeways and commons areas, general cleaning as needed, and other areas as directed.
  • Repairs and Maintenance: Repairs minor problems of buildings and foundations, including ceilings, walls, floors, basements, and all mechanical contents of the building.
  • Unit Turnovers: Assists with unit turns, move outs, apartment inspections, and work orders.
Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Education and Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year
