Job Description

An Employer in Carlsbad, CA is seeking a skilled Software Test Engineer to join their team.

This company manufactures a fluid dispensing robot that runs on proprietary software, creating custom chip boards for clients in the cellphone manufacturing industry.

The ideal candidate will perform 90% manual and 10% automation testing on a desktop-based application that communicates with the robotic hardware.

This person will need to be a self-starter with a technical background, able to work independently on projects and tasks, enjoy a challenge, and problem-solving.

This is a collaborative group that works in two-week sprints, focusing on test-driven code.

The QA will participate in Agile meetings, discuss code bugs with developers, and perform end-to-end testing, from setting up the machine to reporting findings.

This is a contract-to-hire role, requiring the ability to work onsite in North County San Diego, 3 days a week.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in CS, CE, mathematics, engineering, or a related field
  • 2 years of experience in software QA, primarily focused on manual testing
  • Minimum of hands-on experience in regression, integration, and system-level testing for software
  • Knowledge of scripting languages, such as Python or C#
  • Experience creating test plans
  • Desire to grow a career in software QA
  • Ability to work onsite 3 days a week with flexibility to increase during regression testing and project delivery dates
