Job Description


SIMS Software is immediately seeking to on-board a Senior QA Engineer in Carlsbad, CA 92010 to join our QA team to ensure the high-quality delivery of SIMS Software products.


Required Skills and Experience:


  • 7+ years software testing experience, preferably on web and services platform.
  • Hands-on experience using tools such as Jira and Zephyr for issue tracking and test cases.
  • Experience working with and writing SQL database queries.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp complex, technical concepts.
  • Must possess excellent problem-solving skills, and the self-motivation to improve skills.
  • Must be able to work independently with general supervision and as a member of a team.


Helpful Skills:


  • Experience with test automation concepts for web applications utilizing Selenium WebDriver with Java (no click and record).
  • Experience developing and executing API tests using Postman.


Responsibilities Include:


  • Act as the primary QA resource supporting the QA Manager
  • Understand the importance of deadlines and push to meet them.
  • Understand the broader goals of the company and help the QA Manager support them.
  • Reviews functional requirements or user stories and determines testing requirements.
  • Creates and executes manual test cases on each product’s functional areas.
  • Accurately records and clearly documents all actual and expected results.
  • Communicates with developers, product managers, and other technical specialists on product issues such as bugs and errors.
  • Makes recommendations to management for continuous improvement.
