Position Title: Automation Technician II (DDC)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct testing, inspection, adjustment, troubleshooting, and diagnosis of automation components such as dampers, actuators, sensors, and valves.
  • Identify mechanical equipment and associated automation components on schematics for systems including chillers, boilers, pumps, AHUs, FCUs, and VAVs.
  • Understand basic electrical control circuits, including 24VAC/DC power and controller inputs/outputs.
  • Collaborate with the service department to procure replacement materials, ensuring timely delivery and installation.
  • Create schematic drawings, sketches, and reports to document modifications made to instruments, circuits, and systems.
  • Monitor and diagnose potential issues using computer workstations and on-site evaluations.
  • Stay informed about industry advancements, integrating new technologies and best practices to improve building automation system efficiency.
  • Be prepared to work rotating weekends and be on call for emergency service requests.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (preferably Electrical or Mechanical) or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, including at least two years as an automation technician.
  • Strong knowledge of building automation system networks and protocols for effective problem-solving.
  • Relevant certifications in Niagara and Distech Controls are essential.
  • Technical expertise in electronics, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and programming.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for professional interactions with clients and team members.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify issues and implement solutions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, providing technical support as needed.
  • Willingness to adapt to new technologies and methodologies in the evolving field of building automation systems.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
