About the Role

Savage Search Associates is partnering with a leading food distribution company to find an experienced Senior Category Specialist or Senior Buyer. This is a hybrid, full-time position based in Chino, CA, offering the perfect blend of flexibility and onsite engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Category Management: Drive growth and profitability through strategic procurement and market insights.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Interpret market trends, identify opportunities, and optimize purchasing decisions.
  • Vendor Relations: Build and maintain strong partnerships with vendors, ensuring consistent quality, competitive pricing, and efficient delivery.
  • Contract Negotiation: Secure favorable terms that positively impact the bottom line.
  • Collaborative Approach: Work hand-in-hand with internal teams to align category strategies with overall business goals.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience in Category Management and Procurement within the food distribution industry.
  • Strong understanding of frozen meats (or related food categories).
  • Proven analytical skills to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Effective communication and relationship-building abilities to manage internal stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Expertise in contract negotiation and vendor management.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
