Overview:

The Computed Tomography (CT) Imaging Specialist is responsible for executing a diverse range of standard and advanced imaging techniques. This role includes providing assistance to fellow imaging professionals as necessary. Effective communication and behavioral skills must reflect the core values and mission of CHRISTUS Health.

Key Responsibilities:

• Upholds the standards of the OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.

• Conducts various diagnostic imaging procedures, including more intricate tasks, utilizing cutting-edge computerized imaging technology.

• Demonstrates proficiency in initiating and maintaining intravenous (IV) access and operating high-speed, pressurized injection systems.

• Assesses patients for clinical contrast history and identifies potential contraindications.

• Complies with established protocols, quality assurance guidelines, and regulatory standards.

• Engages appropriately with patients and healthcare providers by coordinating and prioritizing tasks throughout the workday to ensure optimal patient care and continuity.

• Must be adaptable and willing to rotate among departments and clinics for adequate coverage.

• Assists Radiologists in invasive and biopsy procedures using CT technology to accurately locate anatomical structures.

• Maintains cleanliness and organization of exam rooms, ensuring they are well-stocked prior to procedures and compliant with Infection Control standards.

• Accurately codes and enters all charges.

• Adjusts patient assessment, treatment, and care methods to meet the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, age-specific, and developmental needs of each patient.

• Conducts all duties in a manner that safeguards patient confidentiality and refrains from disclosing any confidential information unless necessary for job functions.

• Adheres to the core values of CHRISTUS Health.

• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

A. Education/Skills
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program or an equivalent recognized institution required.
B. Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of CT experience in a hospital or clinical environment required.
  • Preferred 3 years of CT experience in a clinical imaging setting.
C. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) required.
  • ARRT registration in CT required.
  • Current state licensure required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
