Job Summary

This is a supervisory position that oversees a team of operational planners responsible for developing high-quality plans for emergent and unforeseen incidents and events. The successful candidate will have experience leading the development and maintenance of deliberate, strategic, crisis, or operational plans to support and align with organizational cybersecurity, infrastructure security, or regulatory compliance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and maintenance of strategic plans addressing policy needs and develop policies to govern operational activities.
  • Assess operational requirements related to emergent and regional incidents and events across the CISA mission areas and develop plans to address these requirements.
  • Assist and advise interagency partners in identifying and developing best practices for facilitating operational support to achievement of organizational objectives.
Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance suitable for Federal employment as determined by a background investigation.
  • Current Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements.
Qualifications

To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required experience for the respective grade level in which you are applying. You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you have at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level performing the following duties:

  • Leading the development and maintenance of deliberate, strategic, crisis, or operational plans, strategies, and policies to support and align with organizational cybersecurity, infrastructure security, or regulatory compliance initiatives.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Additional Information

This position has been designated excluded from bargaining unit representation under the national security provision of 5 U.S.C. 7112(B)(6). Under provisions of the Civil Service Reform Act, first-time supervisors and/or managers will be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
