Empowering Montanans through Work and Opportunity
As a Claims Examiner 2 at the State of Montana, you will play a critical role in empowering Montanans through work and opportunity. You will assist the public over the phone in the claim process, utilizing the external customer-oriented online claims system to file the claim. Your exceptional customer service skills and ability to explain the rights and responsibilities of Unemployment Insurance eligibility will make a significant impact on the lives of Montanans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the public over the phone in the claim process
- Explain the rights and responsibilities of Unemployment Insurance eligibility
- Gather facts necessary for processing claims to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with Unemployment Insurance laws, rules, and policies
- Provide support over the phone on complex information to claimants, co-workers, employers, other government agencies, and interested parties
Requirements:
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to operate a personal computer, including researching database systems such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Office practices and procedures, business English, grammar, mathematics, and information gathering techniques
- Ability to identify complexity level of a claim according to established facts
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
- Learn and apply policies, procedures, and explain the claims process
